Creole Steak

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef round
  • 4 tablespoons of fat (butter, tallow, oil)
  • 1/3 cup chopped bell pepper (Approx. 1 large or 2 medium peppers)
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup tomatoes

Instructions:

  • Pound steak well on both sides and pound in flour
  • Heat fat of choice in pan and brown meat on both sides
  • Add seasonings, tomatoes, and water
  • Cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender
