Ingredients:
- 4-5 bunches of turnip greens
- 8 ounces of cubed ham (substitute bacon grease, canned ham, ham hock)
- Spices: Salt, red pepper flakes, sugar
- Instructions
- Wash greens thoroughly. Place in a sink full of water, swish around to remove dirt. Drain, cover greens in sink with salt, fill with water, repeat 3 times
- Remove leaves from stems and tear into bite sized pieces
- Sautee ham (or substitute) in oil or butter to brown
- Place greens in large pot, add 1/2 pot of water and spices
- Simmer/med boil until tender
